The new arrangement for Mingming's sweeps: solid fixings, stainless steel thole pins and rope grommets. The sweeps will be operated standing and leaning forward, fisherman style.

SEPTEMBER 2008
Jester Challenger extraordinaire, Alexei Fedoruk, hand splices his own rigging. After the 2008 Jester Azores Challenge, Alexei was dismasted and lost his rudder on his way to Newport R.I.. He sailed six hundred miles in 25 days under jury rig with no rudder. Alexei is a proper seaman who does not assume the right to be rescued. I will tell his full story another time.
